Job Purpose:

Responsible for planning, leading and organizing the marketing of the Bank's corporate products (financing facilities, syndications, private placements, project finance, trade finance and other new products) aimed at quality customer service and maximum contribution to the growth and profits of the Bank without exposing it to undue risk

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Formulate and implement on approval, marketing strategies required of the Corporate Banking Division with the objective of maximising revenue/yield and quality assets. Prepare annual sales plan and budgets for the corporate products and implement the same on approval.
  • Lead and direct the sales efforts of the Unit Heads for Corporate Banking and Government Business and maintain contacts at appropriate decision making levels. Act as the key negotiator for all major corporate transactions.
  • Remain current on developments within the preferred markets, paying particular     attention to large projects, acquisitions and mergers which might provide business opportunities for the Bank.
  • Remain alert to dangers where credit ratings are falling or irregularities might occur in order to protect the Bank’s interests.
  • Review and ensure completion of the credit proposals prepared by the Unit Heads before submission of recommendations to the Credit & Risk and ALCO for approval.
  • Ensure timely completion of offer letter, facilitates     acceptance and other formalities for securing the interest of the Bank.
  • Monitor the use of facilities granted to customers in order to find out utilisation and delinquency trends.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to the Management for decision making and review and to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Review structured finance and syndication proposals, provide a complete analysis of the feasibility of the Bank’s involvement including a detailed investigation into returns and potential risks.
  • Ensure the adherence to HR Policies & Procedures as detailed in the HR P&P Manual to support the consistency of practice.
  • Act as a corporate citizen by representing the Bank in the community in order to promote its image, enhance its reputation and optimise business opportunities.
  • Ensure the achievement of objectives as agreed and detailed in the Performance Planning Review Form to support the achievement of Branch/ Division/Bank’s business goals.

Job Purpose:

Provide strategic and operational direction to multiline support divisions such as Information Technology, Centralised operations and Human resources & Administration Division ensuring that they run efficiently and cost effectively providing information in timely, concise and accurate manner.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist CEO to establish strategic objectives and operating policies and procedures to ensure the attainment of the Bank’s goals.
  • Hold the ultimate functional responsibility to develop the technical and operational capabilities to support the achievement of business goals of the Bank by providing managerial and technical direction with high degree of empowerment to the direct reports of the following functional areas.

Centralised operations Division

  • Direct the Centralised Operations which is responsible for providing back office support for Structured Finance, Trade Finance, Escrow, Treasury, Accounts & Funds Services, Cash Management & Cards Services, and Retail Asset Services and ensure reconciliation.
  • Develop, maintain and continually upgrade processes with a view to attaining efficiency, cost-effectiveness in service delivery, which offer sufficient control mechanism so as to minimize operational losses.
  • Seek to benefit from the economies of the scale by centralising the operations to save the cost and avoid duplication in different functional areas.

Information Technology Division

  • Ensure to harness the latest and appropriate technologies in the most efficient and cost effective manner to meet the changing demands of the end users.
  • Ensure that bank gets best value for the investment in IT  projects in terms of its cost effectiveness and enhancement of efficiency.
  • Oversee major IT projects to ensure they are implemented on time and for its operational effectiveness.

Human Resources & Administration

  • Ensure that the Bank gets best value for its staff costs through effective implementation people management systems in place.
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure that management gets quality advice relating to broad HR issues when taking decisions on matters related to organization development and business strategy.
  • Act as the leader of the Human Resources function  and ensure the development of staff by guiding, counselling, motivating and enhancing the competencies to achieve bank’s goals.
  • Ensure the effective implementation people related policies and procedures and adherence to code of conduct and disciplinary procedures across the bank.
  • Oversee Administration function  to ensure that                                                             -The operating procedures are developed and implemented for administrative process
               -Bank gets best value for money from its investment in premises including rent, maintenance, cleaning, security and utility services etc.
  • Ensure that the purchase function runs smoothly.

Reports directly to: Joint Head Credit
 
 
  Manages credit functions related to Financial Institutions. Adheres to credit policies and works closely to the credit delegated credit authority. Analyses credit proposals and recommends acceptance or declination. Works under time constraints in order to meet the demands generated by client expectations. 

 

·         Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by Senior Management for this position.

·         Monitors and provides control on a variety of portfolios in terms of credit quality, portfolio composition, risk recognition and accounts strategy, industry intelligence, and cross border exposures.

·         Carries out timely identification of undue risk elements and relates to relationship manager and seeks corrective action or rejection of application.      

·         Maintains a constant tracking and assessment of market and industry overall economic trends both in the UAE regionally and worldwide where here is a potential impact on the risk profile of credit clients.  Monitors impact on existing and potential clients within the portfolio.  Adjusts overall risk analysis and portfolio risk accordingly.  

·         Where a credit decision is required escalates the application to Head of Credit for direction, review, comment and potential approval.

·         Provides a prompt and accurate service prioritising decisions on client assessment and market assessment. 

·         Works on technology credit related initiatives as required.

·         Develops Nationals as directed by senior management
